A new Dawn.

I haven't posted here for a while due to traveling but I am back now and want to continue and build this blog up to what it used to be. I have just turned vegetarian and am enjoying many Buddhist stories about various Buddhist Saints and their exploits which are quite fascinating and one in particular Arya Avalokite is a veyr popular Bodhisattva and to the Chinese He is identified as KWAN SHI YIN PUSA, as when he came back to Earth to help everyone again he appeared to the Chinese as a girl called Miao Shan which means 'much goodness'.

Here is a lovely DHARANI that is all about Avalokite and I hope you can enjoy the music as much as I do. I have many versions of this in Chinese, Vietnamese and Sanskrit renditions and they are all lovely. There is even an upbeat disco version which has become very popular with Buddhists around the World, especially the younger ones.
Please enjoy.

Great Compassionate Heart Dharani

Chinese Culture.

We all know that Chinese Culture is steeped not only in history but also in the deepest crevices of our imagination, full of intrigue and mystery.
In the next few blog posts I want to cover many great angles of Chinese Culture and History that have helped to shape this great nation and despite whatever naysayers would like to point out, China was and still IS a Great Nation among nations. I am not saying this out of bias or personal opinion as the facts recorded over time speak for themselves.
It isn't enough that the camps for and against China rage on..no..it is the endless souls that have passed through this culturally enriched land that will tell their story as it is with no frills or embellishments.

Chinese costume..Han Fu..

I find Chinese dress extremely elegant and very refined. I would have loved to have lived in a time when etiquette and manners were of the utmost importance. I believe that dress, fine dining and poetry are a great way to express our love to the ones that we are closest too. It is a shame that a lot of these customs have been traded in for a completely casual lifestyle, with fast food, fast relationships and everything with the word fast on the end of it advocated as the new God.
I would love to make gong fu cha for my husband and wear han fu for him. One day maybe my dream will come true, who knows..
Here is an icon of beauty for you to enjoy. I dedicate this to my Lover, my Jia Wu, across the ocean.

Chinese dance TA GE..

I wanted to relax formk all the days worries so decided to look at some Chinese dances. I found one that I found most intriguing and I reallyn loved the costumes. I wish I could dance like that. Maybe one day when I am frail and old lol. I wanted to share this one with you as I hope it will relax your bones as it did mine today. I have a terrible migraine but this has helped relax the tension from my head. I understand now how men in the olden days would go ga ga when watching such graceful and lovely ladies glide across the stage like swans. It is absolutely beautiful.

Ancient Chinese writing.

I am fascinated with the Chinese classics and now have embarked on trying to olearn a very special text written by the Yellow Emperor called the Yin Fu Ching. This is an extremeley sacred ancient Chinese text and if we used these kind of guidances to rule our Planet we would not have so many disastrous consequences that we are finding ourselves creating and recreating today. I feel quite sad that often Eastern civilazations are leaving the jems of their own culture behind to adopt so called modern weatern practices of this corrupt and debauched civilization we claim to be so peoud of. Well i don't want to get into a political argument here. I am only thinking allowed and making a point that there are millions of children starving every day and we are spending billions of Stealth aircrafts and weapons of mass destruction to kill even more people. It just doesn't make sense does it?

At last they are back.

At last the Youtube embedded videos are back so I can enjoy them again and also input more as and when I want to. There are lots about China I have found and other interesting places of course and I would also like to do more songs on there eventually. I thought it was my fault but it must have either been a problem with Blogger's servers or Youtube's yesterday and I thought that there was something wrong with my html abilities which are pretty crappy to say the least. Well at least I can rejoice in the fact that I can now enjoy watching my hunky Chinese heroes from by gone eras on the latest soap operas that come out of Beijing.

It's my birthday today.

Well it's my birthday today and I am 42 years old. How exciting lol.I am sitting here in my PJs tapping away at my keyboard thinking of what a life I have had so far. I ahve to really think long and hard at what I really want to do from now and how I will accomplish the things I have in mind.
I promised myself that from this day forward I am going to start learning to speak Chinese properly at least to know the basics in communication as my dream one day is still to go to China. I don't know if and when that will happen but I do hope it happens in this lifetime and fairly soon. Ity isn't the easiest of languages I have come across in trying to learn but nothing is impossible I say..kind of.
So today I embark on the journey to try to speak Chinese. I find it easier to sing in Chinese that to speak but I have to give it a go.
WISH ME LUCK!
