Media Spin and the Peacock.

When it come's to the Western Media's portrayal of China, Like our Host Qiman points out, it is always looking at the back side of the Peacock rather than focusing on all its side including its beautiful frontage. This is a shame as true and good media should not be biased but impartial and should declare the truth, that means the good, bad and ugly not just the ugly as it tends to do with everyhting coming from China nowadays.
The Iran gate has taken the back steat for now as the Olympics are under way and they powers that be are using the Olympic games to propagate their manifestos, that includes the carving up and so called democratization of China run by another puppet government serving another Superpower's ends.

My Modern day Chinese hero strikes again.

Here Qiman, a.k.a my modern day Hero combats the untimely truths of today's geopolitical arena in a strking showdown of prowess and marksmanship that leaves any one in who confronts him in awe. He is a man of great depth and Wisdom and I personally for one hope that his predition doesn't come true. We do not want to be slaves os a war machine for much longer and as I see the standard of living for the average U.S citizen falling and the longer hours each must work to be able to fulfill basic needs makes me really think about all this freedom and democracy baloney as they say across the pond. If they are so free then why are most of their taxes going into the war coffers? If that is called freedom and democracy well I really beg to differ. By the way doesn't he look really buff in that rasberry red jacket?

Black guy sings peng mongolian song.

This guy has got me going lol. He has a fantastic voice and his rendition of this Chinese/Mongolian song has really inspired me to want to learn better to sing in Chinese. I really think you should take some time to listen to this beautiful song as it has made me cry.
I am thinking again of my beloved acroess the Pond who is the only person on this earth that makes me feel a sense of belongign and at home. I don't understand why but I feel like this and I can't wait to be with him again. All this music makes me cry and want to be closer to him and not three thousand miles away.
You will understand how I feel and why I love Chinese musci so much. This gentleman sings it perfectly in his own r and b style.

Chinese costume..Han Fu..

I find Chinese dress extremely elegant and very refined. I would have loved to have lived in a time when etiquette and manners were of the utmost importance. I believe that dress, fine dining and poetry are a great way to express our love to the ones that we are closest too. It is a shame that a lot of these customs have been traded in for a completely casual lifestyle, with fast food, fast relationships and everything with the word fast on the end of it advocated as the new God.
I would love to make gong fu cha for my husband and wear han fu for him. One day maybe my dream will come true, who knows..
Here is an icon of beauty for you to enjoy. I dedicate this to my Lover, my Jia Wu, across the ocean.

Chinese dance TA GE..

I wanted to relax formk all the days worries so decided to look at some Chinese dances. I found one that I found most intriguing and I reallyn loved the costumes. I wish I could dance like that. Maybe one day when I am frail and old lol. I wanted to share this one with you as I hope it will relax your bones as it did mine today. I have a terrible migraine but this has helped relax the tension from my head. I understand now how men in the olden days would go ga ga when watching such graceful and lovely ladies glide across the stage like swans. It is absolutely beautiful.

At last they are back.

At last the Youtube embedded videos are back so I can enjoy them again and also input more as and when I want to. There are lots about China I have found and other interesting places of course and I would also like to do more songs on there eventually. I thought it was my fault but it must have either been a problem with Blogger's servers or Youtube's yesterday and I thought that there was something wrong with my html abilities which are pretty crappy to say the least. Well at least I can rejoice in the fact that I can now enjoy watching my hunky Chinese heroes from by gone eras on the latest soap operas that come out of Beijing.

Chinese weddings.

I have always been curious to see what a Chinese wedding would look like. There are many different athnic people in China of course, each one hanging onto it's traditions or mixing and matching with new ones. I do know for one thing that Chinese like bright colours and red is always associated with auspicious occasions in China. Like Indian brides many choose red as their main colour of choice unless they are having a western style wedding which would then be white.
I found this on Youtube and I am feeling the pinch. I want a wedding like this lol so I better send this off to someone I know. Well we can dream on eh? I will be writing more on Chinese wedding traditions as we go along.

My modern day Chinese Hero..

Well here he is..the man of my dreams..We had to live Valentine's day apart, and the Chinese New Year apart, and our Birthdays..Well never mind, one day we will be together again and I will at least for now just have to admire his great spirit from afar.
He has some good videos that you can watch on Youtube and his user name is qiman, so it is well worth your time. Only can all the girls belonging to those xxx sites back off a bit lol because it really is not his cup of cha lol.

Kevin Rudd..A modern day Hero.

For me Kevin Rudd is really a modern day Hero.
If you see how much prowess and guts he shows in this video you will understand exactly where I am coming from.
He also speaks Chinese which I personally think is absolutely great. In his great understanding of other cultures and civilizations he has shown an elevated character and through this has shown courage in making a formal apology to the indegenous Aboriginal population of Australia.
He is alos a great advocate for the Environment and the Green Movement and will surge his country forward into more higher developed spheres of living, unlike we are seeing in the U.S which through its policies has shown a decline in both living standards for its people and also in economic growth.

HAPPY NEW YEAR..Xin Nian Kuai Le!!

I will be away from my Zhang Fu this Chinese New Year but I am trying my best to put on a brave face not to upset him that I am feeling the pinch real bad and cried a bit the last few days. I don't care about a red envelope, just I wanted a cuddle and to see his lovely eyes again.
Anyway not to get too much into soppy mode I thought I would post this song that I want to learn and here are the Lyrics and a great Youtube version of it. It might cheer us all up a little.

叠个千纸鹤,再系个红飘带,
die ge qian zhi he, zai xi ge hong yao dai
fold a paper crane, then tie a red belt
愿善良的人们天天
好运来,
yuan shan liang de ren men tian tian hao yun lai
wish kind people good luck every day
你勤劳生活美,你健康春常在,
ni qian lao sheng huo mei, ni jian kang chun chang zai
wish you beautiful industrious life, wish you healthy like spring all the time
你一生的忙碌为了笑逐颜开.
ni yi sheng de mang lu wei le xiao zhu yan kan
you are busy all life for a smiley face
打个中国结,请春风剪个彩,
da ge zhong guo jie, qing chun feng jian ge cai
tie a chinese knot, ask the spring breeze to cut the ribbon
愿祖国的日月年年
好运来,
yuan zu guo de ri yue nian nian hao yun lai
wish motherland good luck each day, each month, and each year
你凤舞太平年,你龙腾新时代,
ni feng wu tai ping nian, ni long teng xin shi dai
you dance like a phoenix for a peaceful year, you rock and roll like a dragon in this new age
你幸福的家园迎来百花盛开.
ni xing fu de jia yuan ying lai bai hua sheng kai
wish your happy family receiving blooming flowers
好运来祝你好运来,

good luck is coming and wish you good luck
好运带来了喜和爱,

good luck is coming, our good luck is coming

Henan oh Henan!

It's my birthday tomorrow and as always I feel a little down and nostalgic. I wish to live in other times and other places with old fashioned ideals and what not. Well I am not and living in the techno world can only go back in time via places like youtube for the moment..well until I have enough moola to get on a plane and visit Henan itself. So I thought I would send this little surprise to my Beloved Jia Wu across the Pond. He also has a home on Youtube as Qiman. So I hope my friends will watch his videos too when they have a chance, they are well worth watching.
Here is my gift to you today Jia Wu.as I can't give you a kiss and a hug and make you a pot of cha at least I can send you this..I hope that our love story won't turn into a Henan Yuxi..I would be heart broken.

I am seeing red..Part 2 Oh Dear! Honglaowai..

I was Googling this morning, searching for a restaurant I had once visited in Wayre that was called China Red. They did the most wicked Peking Duck, sizzling with Hoi Sin sauce, but instead I stumbled across a half naked American guy singing Maoist Revolutionary songs and he sounds a bit drunk to me lol. I have a China Song Lover rival now but I have to admit I am not as gutsy as he is to go around singing topless!! I think only one person is allowed to see me like that!
There are many foreigners like myself who are fascinated with Chinese music, but this was a little beyond me and I was a little shocked. I am still wondering why he is going around singing Chinese songs semi - clad. That is sure one heck of a mystery to me. I am sure we will find out one day.
Anyway I had to post a sample of this guy here because it is hilarious. There is a mixed review of course from our Chinese counterparts who are very critical of foreigners involved in their culture and lifestyle, quite rightly so. They are witty, clever and very perceptive in their critique and I take off my hat to them..yes only my hat, not my top lol!

Here is a sample of Honglaowai as he calles himself..THE RED FOREIGNER.

A NEW FRIEND..

I am quite surprised and pleased to have met a new friend on Youtube. Funny things happen in our lives and this was really a twist of fate lol. He came on to my Youtube Profile and basically he said my singing sucks ..o.k I got the message and with a bit of banter and jolly jousting we ended up talking in pms on a very bright and gracious note. So you never know who your friends can turn out to be. If you see a tiger in the woods.maybe it can become your pet kitty lol.
I dedicate this post to my new friend from Tianjin..Jack..He is an exponent of Shaolin Gong Fu and I anticipate one day to meet and have gong fu cha with him in some pavilion, who knows we may even climb the Black Horse Mountain together and look for the secrets of the Yin Convergence Classic, just like Li Quan did ages ago. I believe in miracles you know.

Thw pic is a retaurant in Tianjin..I like the old fashioned facade..

This is for you my friend Jack..

Another song to keep you all happy..

I love the way Chinese people celebrate their festivals..With vibrant colour and a warmth that could be translated into a spicy curry for two on a romantic night in.
Here is one of my favourite renditions of Naner as I always goback and forth to Youtube lol.I always have to listen to this version..Whenever I need the energy..just like this very moment..boy I need some fresh chi, tha Manhattan air is getting a bit stiffling now.I need to see some greenery..
